Riyadh is NOT the birth-place of Islam. Mecca and Madina are. Riyadh is in the NAJD area of the Arabian peninsula. Mecca and Madina are in the HIJAZ area, hundreds of miles West.
The Najd area was in fact excoriated by the very mouth of the Prophet Muhammad as the forthcoming birth-place of sedition and the launching pad of satanic disasters at the end of times.
This is mentioned in Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim, the two most authentic and most relied upon books in Islam after the Qur'an. Every Saudi knows this, let alone an educated writer such as Mr. Fahd al-Frayyan.
Furthermore, why is the press studiously uninterested in the Islamic perspective on such attacks? It might interest your readers to know that from the Islamic perspective, such attacks on non-Muslim entities (military or otherwise) to whom a country's ruler (rightly or wrongly) had given safe haven are considered qatl al-gheela or "treacherous murder" - in addition, of course, to sedition against the state. Islam lists both offenses among the "enormous sins". But now the U.S. administration will use this as further justification for its dereliction of domestic and international laws, in the name of "fighting terrorism".
This scenario of spectacular treacherous bombings followed by retaliatory U.S. interventionism is all-too-familiar. What brilliant partnership between cops and robbers toward a better world police state, laid bare in such chilling, Orwellian statements by Powell: "the United States will not be deterred from pursuing the interests of peace around the world"!
Why don't you begin by quitting interventionism and stopping your support of tyranny around the world? Why don't you begin with Israel, the unchallenged terrorist state on the face of the earth at this time?
