Fidya For Missing Ramadan

Q
AS WR WB :

.What is the exact amount due for Fidyah if a Muslims misses the entire Sawm for Ramadaan? And can we pay Fidyah for future Ramadaan.

(as i am diabetic, so i am unable to participate in Eid Ul-Fitr Sawm)

Asalaamu Alaykum Wa Rahmattullahi Wa Barrakhattu:

A
wa `alaykum al-salam wa rahmatullahu wa barakatuhu

The expiation (fidya) for someone prevented from fasting because of an illness that they are not expected to recover from is to give food to an impoverished Muslim. The food given is from whatever is the basic staple of the land (such as wheat or rice), and the amount that needs to be given is the amount scooped up when you hold your hands together. The amount is fixed by type of food and volume, not by price and weight.

This amount of food should be given for each day of Ramadan missed.

I was unable to find anything that mentions paying the fidya in advance.

And Allah knows best.
