English Hanbali Fiqh Books Q Can u plz give me the names of Hanbali books that have been translated into English? A al-salamu `alaykum As far as I know, no complete work of Hanbali fiqh has yet been published in the English language. But there are a few books that include selected topics from Hanbali fiqh. One is Ahmad Ibn Hanbal's Treatise On Prayer, translated by Sameh Stauch and published through International Islamic Publishing House in Riyad (1420 AH / 1999 CE). Another is what can be found in Sheikh `Abd Al-Qadir Al-Jaylani's Al-Ghunyah Li Talibi Taqir Al-Haqq, translated by Muhtar Holland and published through Al-Baz Publications. Please search the archive at http://groups.yahoo.com/groups/hanbali for previous messages on this book. I have heard that someone at the university in Medina translated Imam Al-Khiraqi's famous treatise for his graduation thesis. But I have never seen this in print, nor have I been able to confirm this. A general issue with all of these aforementioned books is that while all of them are useful, none of them represent the late madhhab. In sha Allah this will soon be remedied.
