Bismillahi Al-Rahmani Al-Rahim

From Imam Ahmad's Musnad

`Abd Allah [bin Ahmad bin Hanbal] narrated to us, he said: my father said: `Abd al-Malak bin `Amr and Abu Sa`id [both] said: Sulayman bin Bilal [narrated] from `Ammarah bin Ghaziya, [who narrated] from `Abd Allah bin `Ali bin Husayn, [who narrated] from his father `Ali bin Husayn, [who narrated] from his father – peace be upon them both – that the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) said:

The stingy person is the one who when I am mentioned in his presence did not make prayers upon me.

Abu Sa`id said [in his narration]:

...did not pray upon me frequently.

The above hadith is narrated in the Musnad of Imam Ahmad. Imam al-Tirmidhi included it as the 3546th hadith in his compendium, and judged it a well-rigorously authenticated-uncommon report [hadith hasn sahih gharib]. Al-Hakim included it in his Mustadrak (1:549), and judged the chain to be rigorously autnticated even though Imams al-Bukhari and Muslim did not include it in their compendiums.
