in 2020 Trump contacted the Iraqi prime minister and told him that he wanted him to mediate between Iran and Saudi Arabia, because he's a peacemaker who loves deals and negotiations. Qassem Soleimani went to Baghdad for this purpose. Then the US assassinated him. Trump lured him there with a fake request for diplomacy, and then killed him. Israel had made the request, provided the intel and said it would be better for appearances if they did the killing and took responsibility, but Trump insisted he and the US would do it for them.
This is who Trump is and has always been: A fanatical Zionist who will do anything and everything for his precious Israeli death-cult. And the tactic of using fake negotiations and claims of diplomacy as deceit to lull the other side into a false sense of security, that he did again with the whole "turn on Netanyahu, Witkoff peace deal" propaganda, is one that he and the Israelis excel in.

What Iran is allowed to do, according to Israel’s own rules of engagement in Gaza:
If a single Israeli reservist or Likud member lives in a high-rise building, or if a single pistol is nearby, knock down the whole thing
If an Israeli reservist is being treated at a hospital, bomb the sh*t out of it
Since Netanyahu is hiding in an unknown bunker under a densely populated city, drop a bomb every 5 meters indiscriminately until you hit the target. After yesterday's attack on Israel's petrochemical complex, which was captured by people with smartphones and not even reported by the media, Israel has clearly gone up a notch in the psychological warfare it is waging against its citizens.
In a unique display of cringe, the reporters have been obviously instructed to speak in more and more calm and relaxing tones, which sounds utterly psychotic (they are describing war like someone on LSD would describe ducks in a lake in strong sunlight) ('think positive thoughts', they have been telling Israelis).
Hits are now being actively concealed and denied, and alarms are hardly reported on establishment media sites.

By that point you no longer have sufficient retaliatory military capacity. This is just an excuse to not take the necessary action to save your nation and people.
Iran can use its Iraqi and Yemeni allies to take on the hits on the Arab Shield puppet regimes' oil infrastructure, the Houthis are crying out for revenge from the genocide the Saudis and UAE inflicted on them.
Why did you build all these allies if you do not use them now, when you are in an existential war for the survival of your nation and people? Israel has a military strategy called the Dahiya Doctrine. Named after the Dahiya district in Beirut that Israel destroyed in its 2006 invasion of Lebanon.
This ideology calls for the use of overwhelming, disproportionate force and the deliberate targeting of civilian infrastructure to break the will of an adversary’s population.
This isn’t a theory. It’s Israeli military policy explicitly stated, defended, and repeatedly executed in Gaza with genocidal lethality. And now, we are watching its most dangerous version yet: applied to a powerful sovereign state, Iran.
The Dahiya Doctrine logic tells us that Israel will not limit its strikes to military installations. It will continue to target critical infrastructure, including electricity grids, oil facilities, water systems, and communications networks, not just to disable Iran’s military but to make ordinary life unbearable and pressure the population and political elite alike.
These are not military objectives. They are social engineering through airstrikes, designed to collapse not just Iran’s defences but its society.
This is a war on a nation’s viability.
Israel pretends to act alone, but its doctrine is always implemented within the limits of what the Americans will tolerate, and the US tolerates everything. Biden, Trump, it makes no difference.
Here’s the most important bit: Israel has now admitted it cannot destroy Iran’s nuclear program alone. As I said in another post, Israel lacks the heavy bunker-busting bombs and delivery aircraft needed to penetrate Iran’s mountain-shielded Fordow nuclear facility.
Furthermore, just as in Iraq in 2003, it’s not far-fetched to believe that the nuclear sites were merely bait. The real goal is to collapse the Iranian state by eliminating its military and intelligence leadership through assassinations, which they did on day 1, targeting the Ayatollah Khamenei and other top political figures and unleashing chaos via terrorism, car bombings, and ethnic destabilisation.
Like in Libya and Syria, this is not just regime change but state demolition. The endgame is a manufactured “civil war”.
Once again, everything is up to the United States: It can refuse to intervene directly, letting Israel slink away with its tail between its legs or join the war, risking global oil chaos, closure of the Straits of Hormuz, and a spiral into world war.
In the end, it all returns to the Dahiya Doctrine. What began as a strategy to punish Hezbollah by reducing Beirut’s Dahiya district to rubble has now morphed into a doctrine of societal annihilation. Applied to Gaza, it has left behind a trail of destruction.
Now, applied to Iran, it threatens to scale this doctrine to its most catastrophic potential: not just to destroy a city or resistance movement but to implode an entire nation of 92 million inhabitants.
This whole thing was never about nuclear deterrence. It’s always been about proving that any nation defying Israeli or American regional dominance will face the same fate as Dahiya, Gaza, Tripoli, or Damascus.
The choice now before America is not complicated: will it amplify the Dahiya Doctrine into a war with Iran, or finally admit that this doctrine risks the future of West Asia and perhaps the entire world?
I have a feeling they’re willing to risk everyone and everything.

This has hardly begun, and Israel's initial euphoria is beginning to wear off. They are going to escalate now and try to attack civilian Iranian infrastructure, and Iran will retaliate in kind. In a day or two, much of Israel will probably be in the dark.
They are not reporting military casualties so far, but I don't believe it. HakirYa has been hit directly, and it is a huge base with thousands of soldiers there all the time. There have been hits in other military bases in the north as well.
Iran has shown it is in the game and can penetrate all layers of air defense. It is definitely going to use the intelligence it gathered so far to try and hit the missile defense batteries themselves, which, if they actually accomplish, will nullify all of Israel's achievements so far.
Remember that Israelis are spoiled children who have never been seriously hit, and Iran has a history and mentality of toughness, resilience, and resistance.
A battle of attrition between a huge missile force and an air force can have, in all probability, one clear winner, and it's not the one relying on people flying 4-5 hours to drop less explosive material than one missile. How many times and how many days can they do that? Iran can fire 200 missiles a day for a year, and probably thousands a day for weeks on end

Israeli commandos were so nice during the encounter that they agreed not to kill anyone as long as they showed total obedience. In fact, thecommandos showed such restraint that they didn’t even strip anyonenaked. Well, not that I know of…
Israel was temporarily nice to the crew of the Madleen so it could get a propaganda picture and then it took them ashore where it tried to make them watch footage of October 7. When the crew refused, it demanded they sign deportation papers accepting they had illegally entered Israel, even though they were in international waters and it was Israel who took them to Israel!
I understand some of the Madleen crew signed the deportation papers andwere sent on their way, but disgracefully, Rima Hassan refused to berepatriated. Apparently, she wouldn’t confess to something she hadn’tdone because she has “principles”. Israel says it therefore has no choice but to keep her as a hostage, I mean an, um, prisoner.
Obviously, prisoner is the only accurate word to describe someone who is being illegally detained, having committed no crime. Honestly, as a Jew and an anti-Zionist, I can’t believe this is controversial. All major Jewish institutions support Zionism. It’s our job to change that internally, it’s not Palestinians’ job to carefully delineate a line that most of my family doesn’t believe in.

We are done carrying a boundary most Jews won’t defend. We didn’t conflate Judaism with Zionism, Israel did. And too many let it stand. If their resistance is real, they need to ask themselves why it’s still the exception. We are grieving, not gaslighting.
