Hadith Eight

The Immense Merit of Love Based
on Belief And Its Consequence

It is narrated from Ibn Mas`ud (ra) that he said:
"A man came to the Allah's Messenger ﷺ and
said: `O Messenger of Allah! What do you think about a
person who loves a people but did not join them?' That
is: He was not able to do what they do.

The Prophet ﷺ said: `Each is with those he
loves.'"Bukhari and Muslim narrated it.

[Abu Dawud] also narrated from Anas (ra) that he
said: "I saw the Companions of Allah's Messenger
rejoice for something more than any other thing for
which I ever saw them rejoice: A man said: `O
Messenger of Allah! What if someone loves someone else
for his excellent deeds, but does not do as he does?'

The Prophet ﷺ said: `Each is with those he
loves.'"See al-Mundhiri's al-Targhib.
