glory be to you, we have no knowledge except what you have taught us, you
are the all-knowing, the all-wise

<rabbanA taqabbal minnA innaka anta-ssamiy`u-l`aliym> (2:126)

our lord, accept this from us, you are the all-knowing, the all-hearing

our lord, give us good in the dunya and good in the akhira and safeguard us
from the punishment of the fire

rabbanA wa-lA taHmil `alaynA iSran kamA Hamaltahu `ala-lladhiyna min
qablinA
rabbanA wa-lA tuHammilnA mA lA TAqata lanA bih
wa-`afu `annA wa-ghfir lanA wa-rHamnA
anta mawlAnA fa-nSurnA `ala-lqawmi-lkAfiriyn> (2:285)

our lord, do not take us to task if we forget or make a mistake
our lord, do not place on us a load like the one you placed on those before
us
our lord, do not place on us a load we have not the strength to bear
and pardon us and forgive us and have mercy on us
you are our master so help us against the kafir people

<rabbanA lA tuzigh quluwbanA ba`da idh hadaytanA wa-hab lanA mil-ladunka
raHmatan-innaka anta-lwahhAb
rabbanA innaka jAmi`u-nnAsi li-yawmil-lA rayba fiyhi inna-llAha lA
yukhlifu-lmiy`Ad> (3:8)

our lord, do not make our hearts swerve aside after you have guided us
and give us mercy from you, you are the ever-giving
our lord, you are the gatherer of mankind to a day of which there is no
doubt, allah will not break his promise

<rabbanA innanA AmannA fa-ghfir lanA dhunuwbanA wa-qinA `adhAba-nnAr>
(3:16)

our lord, we have iman so forgive us our wrong actions and safeguard us from
the punishment of the fire

<allAhumma mAlika-lmulki
tuwti-lmulka man tashA'u
wa-tanzi`u-lmulka mimman tashA'u
wa-tu`izzu man tashA'u
wa-tudhillu man tashA'u
bi-yadika-lkhayru
innaka `alA kulli shay'in qadiyrun
tuwliju-llayla fi-nnahAri wa-tuwliju-nnahAra fi-llayli
wa-tukhriju-lHayya mina-lmayyiti
wa-tukhriju-lmayyita mina-lHayyi
wa-tarzuqu man tashA'u bi-ghayri HisAb> (3:25)

o allah, master of the kingdom,
you give sovereignty to whoever you will and you take sovereignty from
whoever you will
you exalt whoever you will and you abase whoever you will
all good is in your hands
you have power over all things
you merge the night into the day and you merge the day into the night
you bring out the living from the dead and you bring out the dead from the
living
and you provide for whoever you will without reckoning

<rabbi inniy nadhartu laka mA fiy baTniy muHarraran fa-taqabbal
minniya innaka anta-ssamiy`u-l`aliym> (3:35)

my lord, I have pledged to you what is in my womb, devoting it to your
service, please accept my prayer, you are the all-hearing, the all-knowing

<rabbi hab liy mil-ladunka dhurriyyatan Tayyibatan-innaka samiy`u-ddu`A'>
(3:38)

my lord, grant me by your favour an upright child, you are the hearer of
prayer

<rabbanA AmannA bimA anzalta wa-ttaba`na-rrasuwla fa-ktubnA
ma`a-shshAhidiyn> (3:52)

our lord, we have iman in what you have sent down and we have followed the
messenger so write us down among the witnesses

<rabbana-ghfir lanA dhunuwbanA wa-isrAfanA fiy amrinA wa-thabbit-aqdAmanA
wa-nSurnA `ala-lqawmi-lkAfiriyn> (3:147)

our lord, forgive us our wrong actions and any excesses we went to in
what we did and make our feet firm and help us against these kafir
people

<Hasbuna-llAhu wa-ni`ma-lwakiyl> (3:173)

allah is enough for us and the best of guardians

<rabbanA mA khalaqta hAdhA bATilan subHAnaka fa-qinA `adhAba-nnAri
rabbanA innaka man-tudkhili-nnAra fa-qad-akhzaytahu wa-mA
li-DhDhAlimiyna min-anSAr> (3:191,192)

our lord, you have not created this for nothing, glory be to you, so
safeguard us from the punishment of the fire
our lord, those who you cast into the fire, you have disgraced, the
wrong-doers will have no helpers

<rabbanA fa-ghfir lanA dhunuwbanA wa-kaffir `annA sayyi'AtinA wa-tawaffanA
ma`a-labrAri
rabbanA wa-AtinA mA wa`adtanA `alA rusulika wa-lA tukhzinA yawma-lqiyamati
innaka lA tukhlifu-lmiy`Ad> (3:193,194)

our lord, forgive us our wrong actions and erase our bad actions from
us and take us back to you with those who are truly good
our lord, give us what you promised us through your messengers and do not
disgrace us on the day of rising, you do not break your promise

<wa-j`al lanA mil-ladunka waliyyan-wa-j`al lanA mil-ladunka naSiyra>
(4:74)

(and) give us a protector from you, give us a helper from you

<rabbanA AmannA fa-ktubnA ma`a-shshAhidiyn
wa-mA lanA lA nuwminu billAhi wa-mA jA'anA mina-lHaqq
wa-naTma`u an-yudkhilanA ma`a-lqawmi-SSAliHiyn> (5:83)

our lord, we have iman so write us down among the witnesses
how could we not have iman in allah and the truth that has come to us when
we long for our lord to include us among the salihun

<innaniy hadAniy rabbiya ilA SirATim mustaqiymin diynan qayyimam-millata
ibrAhiyma Haniyfan-wa-mA kAna mina-lmushrikiyn> (6:163)

my lord has guided me to a straight path
a well-founded deen, the religion of ibrahim, a man of pure and natural
belief and he was not one of the mushrikun

<rabbanA DhalamnA anfusanA wa-il-lam taghfir lanA wa-tarHamnA
lanakuwnanna mina-lkhAsiriyn> (7:22)

our lord, we have wronged ourselves, if you do not forgive us and have mercy
on us we will be among the lost

<rabbanA lA taj`alna ma`a-lqawmi-DhDhAlimiyn> (7:46)

our lord, do not place us with the people of the wrongdoers

<rabbanA afrigh `alaynA Sabran-wa-tawaffanA muslimiyn> (7:125)

our lord, pour down steadfastness upon us and take us back to you as muslims

<rabbi-ghfir liy wa-li-akhiy wa-adkhilnA fiy raHmatika wa-anta
arHamu-rrAHimiyn> (7:151)

my lord, forgive me and my brother and admit us into your mercy, you are the
most merciful of the merciful

<Hasbiya-llAhu lA ilAha illA huwa `alayhi tawakkaltu wa-huwa
rabbu-l`arshi-l`aDhiym> (9:129)

allah is enough for me, there is no god but him, I have put my trust in him
and he is the lord of the mighty throne

<`ala-llAhi tawakkalnA rabbanA lA taj`alnA fitnatal-li-lqawmi-DhDhAlimiyna
wa-najjinA bi-raHmatika mina-lqawmi-lkAfiriyn> (10:85,86)

we have put our trust in allah, our lord, do not make us a target for this
wrongdoing people and rescue us by your mercy from this kafir people

<inniy tawakkaltu `ala-llAhi rabbiy wa-rabbikum mA min dAbbatin-illA
huwa Akhidhum-bi-nASiyatihA inna rabbiy `alA SirATim-mustaqiym>

I have put my trust in allah my lord and your lord, there is no creature he
does not hold by the forelock, my lord is on a straight path

<rabbi-j`alniy muqiyma-SSalAti wa min dhurriyyatiy
rabbanA wa-taqabbal du`A'
rabbana-ghfir liy wa-li-wAlidayya wa-li-lmuwminiyna yawmayaquwmu-lHisAb>

my lord, make me and my descendants people who establish salat
my lord, accept my prayer
our lord, forgive me and my parents and the muminun on the day the reckoning
takes place

<rabbanA hab lanA mil-ladunka raHmatan-wa-hayyi' lanA min-amrinA rashada>

our lord, give us mercy directly from you and open the way for us to right
guidance in our situation

<`asA an-yahdiyani rabbiy li-aqraba min hAdhA rashada> (18:24)

hopefully my lord will guide me to something closer to right guidance than

<mA shA'a-llAhu lA quwwata illA bi-llAh> (18:38)

it is as allah wills, there is no strength but in allah

o lord, expand my breast for me and make my task easy for me
and loosen the knot in my tongue so that they will understand my words

there is no god but you, glory be to you, truly I have been one of the
wrongdoers

my lord, do not leave me on my own (childless), though you are the best of
inheritors

my lord, I seek refuge in you from the goadings of the shaytans and I seek
refuge with you, my lord, from their presence

of the merciful

inescapable pain, it is indeed an evil lodging and abode

our lord, give us joy in our wives and children and make us a good example
for those who have taqwa

my lord is with me and he will guide me

we are returning to our lord
we remain hopeful that our lord will forgive us our mistakes

wa-j`alniy min-warathati jannati-nna`iym
wa-lA tukhziniy yawma yub`athuwn

illA man-ata-llAha bi-qalbin saliym> (26:83-85,87-89)

my lord give me right judgement and unite me with the salihun
and make me highly esteemed among the later peoples
and make me one of the inheritors of the garden of delight
and do not disgrace me on the day they are raised up
the day when neither wealth nor sons will be of any use
except to those who come to allah with sound and flawless hearts

<rabbi awzi`niya an-ashkura ni`mataka-llatiya an`amta `alayya wa-`alA
wAlidayya wa-an-a`mala SaliHan tarDAhu
wa-adkhilniy bi-raHmatika fiy `ibAdika-SSAliHiyn> (27:19)

my lord, keep me thankful for the blessing you have bestowed on me and my
parents and keep me acting rightly, pleasing you, and admit me by your mercy
among your slaves who are salihun

<rabbi inniy Dhalamtu nafsiy fa-ghfir liy (28:15)

my lord, I have wronged myself, forgive me

<rabbi najjiniy mina-lqawmi-DhDhAlimiyn> (28:20)

my lord, rescue me from the people of the wrongdoers

hopefully my lord will guide me to the right way

<rabbi inniy limA anzalta ilayya min khayrin faqiyr> (28:24)

my lord, I am truly in need of any good you have in store for me

glory be to your lord, the lord of might, beyond anything they describe
and peace be upon the messengers and praise be to allah, the lord of the
worlds

<inniy `udhtu bi-rabbiy wa-rabbikum min kulli mutakabbiril-lA yuwminu
bi-yawmi-lHisAb> (40:27)

I seek refuge in my lord and your lord from every proud man who does not
have iman in the day of reckoning

<subHAna-lladhiy sakhkhara lanA hAdhA wa-mA kunnA lahu muqriniyna
wa-innA ilA rabbinA munqalibiyn> (43:12,13)

glory be to him who has subjected this[animal/vehicle] to us, we could never
have done it ourselves, indeed we are returning to our lord

<rabbi awzi`niya an-ashkura ni`mataka-llatiya an`amta `alayya wa-`alA
wAlidayya wa-an-a`mala SaliHan tarDAhu
wa-aSliH liy fiy dhurriyyatiy
inniy tubtu ilayka wa-inniy mina-lmuslimiyn (46:14)

my lord, keep me thankful for the blessing you have bestowed on me and my
parents and keep me acting rightly, pleasing you,
and make my descendants salihun
I have made tawba to you and I am truly one of the muslims

<rabbi-bni liy `indaka baytan fi-ljanna> (66:11)

my lord, build a house in the janna for me in your presence

<rabbi-ghfir liy wa-li-wAlidayya wa-liman dakhala baytiy muwminan
wa-li-lmuwminiyna wa-lmuwminAti wa-lA tazidi-DhDhAlimiyna illA tabAra>

my lord, forgive me and my parents and all who enter my house as muminun,
and all the men and women of the muminun, but do not increase the wrongdoers
except in ruin

taj`al fiy quluwbinA ghillal-li-lladhiyna Amanuw

rancour in our hearts towards those who have iman
our lord, you are all-gentle, most merciful
