1. Quran and Interpretative Translation

{ بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمَانِ الرَّحِيمِ }

{ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ الْحَقَّ فَهُم مُّعْرِضُونَ . وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ مِن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا نُوحِي إِلَيْهِ أَنَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا أَنَا فَاعْبُدُونِ }

{In the name of Allah (God) the All-Compassionate, Most-Merciful}

{But most of them know not the truth, so they are averters. And We sent not before you any messenger except that We revealed to him that, "There is no deity except Me, so worship Me."}
21-24/25

2. Explanation (tafsir)

- {most of them know not the truth}:
DY^[1]: since they never care to arrive at the truth.
Y: this is the message of Islam and the message of all prophets, who came before the holy prophet Muhammad (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him!), and the line of prophets was closed with him.
The message given to every apostle in all ages, was that of Unity as the fundamental basis of order and design in the world, material, moral, and spiritual.
- {they are averters: they are turning away therefrom},
DY: i.e., they are still heedless of the truth.^[2]
- {except that We revealed: or inspired.}

- {There is no deity except Me}
This is the message of pure monotheism, one God, one reality. There is nothing like Allah (God). And he is All-Hearing, All-Seeing, the All-Powerful, the Wise, the Guide of everyone and the Support of everything. Every day, and every moment, He is in divine action, in splendour.

TQK: The Quran is an admonition/ warning that rejecting the true God and placing idols alongside Him has catastrophic consequences.^[3]

3. Prophet Muhammad ﷺ on the potency of the Quran

عَنْ عمر بن الخطاب أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَرْفَعُ بِهَذَا الْكِتَابِ أَقْوَامًا وَيَضَعُ بِهِ آخَرِينَ

Umar ibn al-Khattab reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said,
“Verily, Allah raises the status of people by this book, and by it he humbles others.”
