bitly…

We are living in the postmodern age, or the age of Postmodernity.
Although most people may not care much in which age they are living - but those who do know that these times are characteristically different from those 50 or 100 years ago.1
What then is so different?

1 Observation

To be modern (or postmodern) is to value only what is self-gratifying in the moment, short term, while imagining that we (people) are entitled to a steady stream of entertainment and distraction.
Entertainment to somehow help us cope with the realities of our lives without reference to any higher power/ to any divine counsel / even road to take.

So engrossed in our conviction that no god, no prophet, no saint not any human person would hold higher knowledge than what our own little mind can muster.

But when we are sick we tend to trust those who have studied and practiced the medical sciences, when we cross bridges don't we trust those engineer experts who knew how to calculate and build them correctly!

2 The Good Life

All people yearn for the good life, but what is really the good life? Deceptions waiting, dangers luring, how do we know, how to discern the wheat from the chaff?
Who to trust?

For a substantial part of the population of the world, a good life, would already mean to have water and food for the day. In a world of plenty, at least 800 million people are going hungry every day.2 How can this be allowed to continue even for a day - for years?!

3 Losing The Self / Soul

In the process of enjoying the 'lighter' sides of this life and forgetting God, man/ woman is losing his/ her self / soul.

The symtoms of the loss of the Self or the Soul or the (spiritual) heart are many and widely reported by the media and experienced by people themselves.

This is a very rudimentary hunch~ only awareness of this degrading process - to a degree
