Revelation

Allah’s Revelation to Mankind

Allah says in the Holy Quran:

{We have surely revealed to you a Book/ a Scripture containing all that you ought to bear in mind. Will you not reason, then?}
21-10

{ لَقَدْ أَنزَلْنَآ إِلَيْكُمْ كِتَابًا فِيهِ ذِكْرُكُمْ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ }

Evidence

Evidence is…

This religion, which is the way of Allah and His Messenger (may Allah's peace and blessings upon him!), is based on evidence. Without evidence or proof, anyone could say anything, and could claim anything.

Islamic practice and jurisprudence, all of its disciplines are based on evidence, not on assumptions or wishful thinking. The `ulema of the past 1300+ years worked hard to distinguish authentic or genuine hadith (prophetic traditions) from forged ones, which appeared over time.

{ قُلْ هَاتُوا بُرْهَانَكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ }

{Bring your proof if you are sincere, if you are sincere.}
2-111

The Qur'an Is Described in These Words

{ هُدًى لِّلنَّاسِ وَبَيِّنَاتٍ مِّنَ الْهُدَىٰ وَالْفُرْقَانِ }

{A guidance for mankind and clear evidence of guidance and discrimination (between right and wrong)}
2-185

{Indeed, it is We who sent down the Qur'an and indeed, We will be its guardian.}
25-32

{Thus [it is] that We may strengthen thereby your heart. And We have spaced it distinctly.}
25-32

{Indeed, We have sent it down as an Arabic Qur’ān that you might understand.}
12-2

We revealed to you the message that you may make clear to the people what was sent down to them and that they might give thought.}
16-44

[This is] {a blessed Book which We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], that they might reflect upon its verses and that those of understanding would be reminded.}
38-29

{And We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], the Book in truth, confirming that which preceded it of the Scripture and as a criterion over it.…}
5-48

{A Book We have sent down to you so that you may bring forth mankind from the darkness into the light.}
14-1

{This is a declaration for humankind, a guidance and admonition to those who ward off (evil)}
3-138

Mercy

The core message of Islam is mercy and how much mercy you show proves how true Muslim you are.

In the name of God

Quranic Surahs are introduced with the expression “the All Merciful” (ar-Rahmān) and the “All-Compassionate” (ar-Rahīm), reflecting the overarching theme of Mercy in the Islamic tradition. fn1

The nature of God - Allah as revealed in Islam is derived from revelation. We do not mean by Revelation the sudden visions great poets and artists claim for themselves, no apostolic inspiration of the writings of sacred scripture; nor the illuminative intuition of the sages and people of discernment.

We mean by it the speech of Allah concerning Himself, His creation, the relation between them, and the way to salvation communicated to His chosen Prophet and Messenger , not by sound or letter, yet comprising all that He has represented in words, then conveyed by the Prophet to mankind in a linguistic form new in nature yet comprehensible, without confusion with the Prophet's own subjectivity and cognitive imagination.

This Revelation is final, and it not only confirms the truth of preceding revelations in their original forms, but includes their substance, separating the truth from cultural creations and ethnic inventions.

It is through Revelation, in which Allah has described Himself, His creative activity and His creation, and not through Greek or Hellenistic philosophical tradition, neither even through philosophy nor through science, that Islam interprets the world together with all its parts in terms of events that occur within the perpetual process of a new creation.

A Scripture of Truth and Wisdom

In the name of God

{ تَنزِيلُ الْكِتَابِ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِ مِن رَّبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ }

{ The Revelation of the Book (Scripture) in which there is no doubt - from the Lord of the Worlds.}
Sura 32-2

Explanation

This Scripture is Allah's speech addressed to you (whereof there is no doubt), from the Lord of the Worlds.

Compare with Sura 2-2:

{ ذٰلِكَ الْكِتَابُ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِ هُدًى لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ }

{ That is the Book, wherein is no doubt, a guidance to the godfearing (who guard against evil)}.

The Creation and Existence of Pairs

The Existence of Pairs in the Quran
Picture of Quran

From Sura 36, verse 36

{ سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ الْأَزْوَاجَ كُلَّهَا مِمَّا تُنبِتُ الْأَرْضُ وَمِنْ أَنفُسِهِمْ وَمِمَّا لَا يَعْلَمُونَ }

{Glory be to Him, who created all pairs - from what the earth grows and from themselves (their own human kind) and of what they know not.}
36-36

Explanation

Everything in nature exists in pairs as male and female, or one setting or the other. Not only the vegetable and animal life but even rock crystals, electricity and atoms have their sets of opposites.

{(Allah) created you from a single pair of male and female and made you into nations and tribes so that you may know one another. Verily, the most honored of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you…}
49-13

Differences in tribe, race, ethnicity, language, nationality, and religion can be sources through which human beings gain a deeper appreciation for the reality of the human condition.

Allah knows best and most!
