Unknown to most western audiences, there has been a steady trickle of emerging evidence from Israeli sources over the past two months implicating Israel’s own military in at least some of the killings originally attributed to Hamas, probably the majority of those killed.[n1]

Chief of security at the Nova music festival, which was taking place near the Gaza-Israel border on 7 October, told Hebrew outlet Channel 14 that he received a warning about the Hamas operation a week ahead of the attacks.
Elkana Federman told Channel 14 that authorities ignored him when he relayed the warning. “I had a guard at the festival who had served in the Re’im Division [near Gaza border], and a week before the festival he sent me a voice message … basically warning me, saying, ‘Elkana, something is going to happen over Sukkot (Jewish holiday). I just wanted to let you know, there are a lot of warnings,’” Federman said.
“I passed the voice message on, and they told me everything was all right, that the army would be able to handle whatever needed to be handled and that there were always alerts and that everything was fine. I did my part, I’m just a security officer, not a high army guy who can change something in my purview,” he added.

Much evidence recently surfaced relating to the Israeli army’s role in the death of its citizens on 7 October, including at the Nova festival.

According to another Israeli media report cited by Yedioth Ahronoth, the Shin Bet had received information from one of its undercover agents inside the Gaza Strip months before the attack saying that Hamas was planning something “major the week after Yom Kippur."

At midday on 7 October Israel’s supreme military command ordered all units to prevent the capture of Israeli citizens “at any cost” – even by firing on them.
The military “instructed all its fighting units to perform the Hannibal Directive in practice, although it did so without stating that name explicitly,” Israeli journalists revealed last weekend.
The revelations came in a new investigative article by Ronen Bergman and Yoav Zitun, two journalists with extensive sources inside Israel’s military and intelligence establishment.

42 victims of the Oct. 7 Nova concert have filed a civil lawsuit against the IDF, police, and Israel's internal security service.
Lawsuit alleges negligence and a failure to act on warnings of a potential security threat.
Several victims have already decided to publicly comment that the Israeli army fired at them out of control. A police investigation also confirmed that many of the October 7 victims were killed by the IDF.[2]

According to the isra-l army (which we should not trust on a sunny day): Their weapons included "AK-47s, thermobaric grenades, and Shawaz anti-tank explosives."

However those weapons cannot explain the serious devastation as seen in the kibbutz or with the Nova festival cars (and which reminds us of Gaza after Oct 8).
In any case an independant international group of experts (for example from the UN) should have already started an investigation, but the Isra-l government wouldn't allow it. They have a lot to hide.
Also: The Palestinian fighters went for the military bases, after having finished of the Isra-l military there, they would not need to carry heavy anti-tank explosives to the kibbuz and the Nova festival, they would have used up their material at the first objects, not to explode houses and cars.

This is the latest of a growing number of reports that Israeli authorities ignored multiple warnings about Operation Al-Aqsa Flood.
Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth [ המחדל בשב"כ: מה ידע רונן בר לפני 7 באוקטובר?] reported in late December [thecradle.co: How Israeli forces trapped and killed ravers at the Nova Festival] that Israel’s Shin Bet security service received crucial intelligence that could have prevented Hamas’ attack on 7 October.
According to the report, Shin Bet Director Ronen Bar was present at the agency headquarters in Tel Aviv the night before the attacks.
In late November, Financial Times (FT) said that a detailed report by low-ranking officers was sent to senior officials in the army weeks before the attack. The army report warned Hamas was training to “blow up border posts at several locations, enter Israeli territory, and take over kibbutzim.”
The officers also provided video footage of Hamas practicing taking prisoners.
The Times of Israel reported in October 2023 that warnings provided by low-level surveillance soldiers were ignored by their superiors for months.

A colonial oppressor of a subjugated and colonised people will always try to manipulate some groups among them in any way possible. In the case of Palestine, Zionists helped building up the Hamas group in order to weaken the Palestinian Authority under Yasir Arafat. These two groups have even had infighting some two decades ago.
But this is not something which is called "to run" a group, which would imply that the leaders of Hamas follow the commands of the occupier, which is absurd.
