1. Lahabism (Islamophobia) is Hatred

Clearly Lahabism (Islamophobia) is hatred of Islam, nothing less than hatred of the heavenly message from God, is not new! We prefer to use the term “Lahabism” for the rather vague term “Islamophobia.”fn5 Also: While Islam is attacked from many quarters almost all the time (Islamophobia industryn2), this is a sign that it is significant and important. These attacks are futile as Islam is based on truth and truth cannot be eliminated.n3

Quran:
{Those who hate what Allah has revealed…}
47-26

This hate stems from ignorance about the way of Islam - which is more than a ’religion’, a hate which has to do with pride: how can anyone come to us and know more about the meaning of life?! They deny the divine messages, the noble and pure prophets and not the least even the Creator of the Heavens ond the earth. Despite what the detractors may invent: Islams originates from divine truth, from the Supreme Merciful God of all and everything.

2. Humanity Is One

The first problem with this is not only some problems for Muslims when they are seen as followers of this religion instead to see them as human beings with Islam as religion. Also the worst fascists are first of all human beings and all have to be treated as such.

What concerns hatred, Islamic tradition informs the Muslims to hate the person’s bad action(s), and not the person himself (or herself).

Some members of our Muslim community have committed crimes, murder of innocent people. This is very bad and cannot be justified or excused.

However it may be, many if not most of those ’terrorist attacks’ which we have seen over the years, have been instigated or directed by the forces from behind, for political reasons.fn4

The prophetic saying:
”None of you believes until he wants for his brother what he would want for himself.”
Reported by Anas Ibn Malik from Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. ”Our scholars who understood ’brotherhood’ in this Hadith … to include all of humanity, i.e., the brotherhood of mankind.”
Living Islam - Islamic Tradition: The Meaning of Universal Brotherhood

3. Blaming the Lot

But it is a great injustice to blame the whole Muslim community for the deeds of individuals. No matter the words or Islamic symbols they use. They do not represent the teachings of Islam, as understood by 14 centuries of Muslim scholars and saints or as understood by the generality of Muslims.

We must not fall back into old patterns of collective guilt and stereotyping, fn2 otherwise the whole of society risks being impacted by division and hatred.

Disclaimer of terror attacks: Misrepresenting Islam 01

At the same time, we cannot turn a blind eye at the ongoing war-mogering and oppression against Muslim countries and communities in the last decades up until today, and in Palestine and Kashmir for much longer.fn9

4. Mechanisms of Provocation

Criminals use all kinds of excuses and rationalisationsfn3 for their evil deeds. This is a well-known fact. The reasons vary, incentives for crimes stem from some twisted love of power, ~ of money, ~ of politics, ~ of sexuality, or even ‘religious’ reasons.

Covering crimes with ‘religious’ justifications is not a new phenomenon.fn10 Just as the justification of money (”he did it for money”) does not mean that the fault is with money, or the justification of sexuality (”he did it for sexuality”) does not mean that it is the fault of sexuality, that the crime was committed, the same concerns religion, or with Islam:

It is not the fault of Islam, when crimes are committed in its name!

In difficult situations, where members of one group or religion are being discriminated or oppressed (or where they perceive themselves as such), and where social, economic injustices lead to inner tensions in the social/ religious group,
and where these tensions are often worsened by the fact that many Muslim communities and countries are object of ongoing military attacksfn11

all these factors form a real risk that some militant individuals will go overboard and ’take the law in their own hand’, while thinking they are in the right. These are the mechanisms of social discrimination, provocation and oppression.

A non-Muslim criminal without references to any religious reasons for his crime will not excuse his evil deed and rationalisefn3 it with religious slogans, because he is informed by his non-religious or secular background, which is materialistic, non-religious etc.

A non-Muslim criminal with a Christian background will however refer to religious justifications.fn12

A Muslim criminalfn6 will use religious slogans to justify his crime because these are the references he will evoke, coming from his socio-religious background, but this justification is still nothing more than a cover or rationalisation for the evil act, the cover (Islam) is not the cause of his crime (murder). The cause is something else - hurt feelings, hurt pride, a feeling of despair etc.fn8 -, but it is definitely neither ‘religion’ nor ‘Islam’.

But the generality or majority in a non-Muslim country will usually not want to draw these distinctions and only accept ready-made explanations. They will not ask: Why are we not told more about the event, who would benefit from it, what would be a possible the agenda behind all this?

5. Missing out on the best promise

The second problem with turning one's back on Islam, it is turning away from God and the prophetic message, and consequently turning away from a life in harmony and inner peace with the Creator and Sustainer of all fn7, although there will still be some kinds of temptations, and hardships, but not darkness and despair.

May Allah protect us all from arriving at a point where we would miss out on the best promise ever given to man.

6. The Situation after terrorist attacks

With several terrorist attacks in France and Austria recently (2020) - which we condemnfn1, what is the reality of the situation for Muslims and non-Muslims in the world?

In his Friday sermon - Khuṭbah: Challenging The Islamophobia Narrative | Shaykh Dr. Yasir Qadhi the shaykh compares the similarities of today's situation with the one in the 1920s and 1930s in Germany.

Difficult economic situation in society, worsening splitting of society in groups, propaganda lies about the minority group, increasing discriminating measures against the minority group, question: where does it stop?

7. Othering the Muslims

Othering of the Muslims and/ or other minorities, such as Africans, means there is a constant attention towards them, showing them as ”totally different.” Even if there are differences, there is no reason to keeping aloof from them. Instead there is a divine wisdom in the difference of this creation as Allah says in the holy Quran:

{O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is All-Knowing and All-Aware.}
Sura 49-13

This ’othering of Muslims’ has become a conscious and planned effort by what is aptly called the Islamophobia Industry:

8. Islamophobia is a Zionist/ Israel tool

The Apartheid state of Israel created an international movement against Islam. It ”instrumentalizes or weaponizes Islamophobia as a strategic tool to legitimize and justify the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians in the territories under Israel’s control, as well as to support Israeli aggression towards other mostly Muslim countries in the region.

”Promoting and fostering Islamophobia internationally helps to increase and solidify international support for the Zionist genocidal project. It is therefore treated as an important tool of Israeli and Zionist international influence.fn17
The Israeli Government Role in Promoting Islamophobia Internationally by Paul Larudee, 2018

9. Islamophobia is a multimillion-dollar industry

9.1 Islamophobia industry and terror against Muslims.

“It is an entire industry of itself. There are people making millions of dollars per year from promoting Islamophobia. They often present themselves as experts on Islamic affairs when they are not,” Wilfredo Amr Ruiz, a spokesman for CAIR, told Al Jazeera.

“They have fuelled an environment of distrust among the American public by claiming that Muslims do not belong to the American community and that they could never be loyal citizens.”

Ruiz said that Islamophobia has posed two main dangers: a rise in hate crimes and anti-Islamic legislation. “For example, in the last year alone in Florida, there has been a 500 percent increase in hate crimes against Muslims. Mosques have been vandalised and there have been a number of bomb threats towards Islamic groups.

“Religious discrimination is illegal. There has to be legal procedures that can address that.” Report: Islamophobia is a multimillion-dollar industry | Human Rights News | Al Jazeera 2016

9.2 Islamophobia - Lahabism's violent consequences: The case of Breivik

How Islamophobia - Lahabism turns violent. There are many examples of harassment and attacks against Muslims and of structural discriminationfn15, here two recent examples. As can be seen in Breivik's case not only Muslims are victims to this bigotry.fn13

As documented in ”The Roots of the Islamophobia Network in America” by By Wajahat Ali, 2011, one chain of satanic inspirations lead from figures such as misinformation expert Gaffney, or Geller and Spencer, who co-founded the organization ’Stop Islamization of America’ → to US politicians, such as former Speaker of the House of Representatives Newt Gingrich → with the generous aid of seven charitable groups, which provided $42.6 million to Islamophobia think tanks between 2001 and 2009 (this has to be updated for 2020…) → Breivik’s manifesto → Breivik's self-described “gruesome but necessary” actions.

On July 26, Breivik told the court that violence was “necessary” to save Europe from Marxism and “Muslimization.” In his 1,500-page manifesto, which meticulously details his attack methods and aims to inspire others to extremist violence, Breivik vows “brutal and breathtaking operations which will result in casualties” to fight the alleged “ongoing Islamic Colonization of Europe.”

9.3 The case of the New Zealand attack on Muslims

”The US-led war on terror created an industry out of Islamophobia. The Islamophobia Industry: how US…; M I Mohamed Taib, 2019

”In doing so – as the slaying of 50 Muslim worshippers in New Zealand shows – it sowed the seeds for a terror of its own: white supremacy.

”It was a wake-up call to the world: the danger posed by far-right extremism is real. On March 15, when a self-confessed white supremacist armed with a semi-automatic weapon stormed two mosques in New Zealand, Christchurch, killing 50 worshippers in a spray of bullets, there could be no doubting the sole target of his hatred – Muslims.

”Not only was this demonstrated in the gruesome video he live-streamed during his rampage, but – as if to avoid any doubt – he circulated to the world a manifesto in which he revelled in the “anti-Islamic motivation” behind the attacks. A “white genocide” was taking place, his diatribe went as he evoked the centuries-old battle of Islam versus the West.

”This was Islamophobia stretched to its violent and bloody conclusion.

10. The Myth of the 'Hidden Agenda'

People are told (by agents of dubious news - f ex the Murdoch tabloids) that "Muslims want to change your way of life."fn16

These are ”beliefs underpinning ’nativist’ ideology with its theories of replacement (of whites by Muslims, Latinos and others)… (what is however) rarely mentioned, (is) that the whites themselves achieved their dominant status by…” fn14
Institutional racism and the rise of anti-Muslim attitudes | The Guardian

Regarding corruption, immorality, greediness, criminality: Yes, of course we want to change such things, resolve those problems, and we participate with all forces of good-will to improve our societies, to benefit all, while answering the challenges in our time.

Any change will only happen by God’s permission and guidance, following our noble Prophet - the blessings and peace of Allah upon him - and with the majority of people standing up for what is right and good.

11. Conclusion

All this being said and written - we rely on Allah, Who has the sole power and knowledge over everything (may His Majesty be exalted).

However the promise of Allah is the true promise: Islam will be strengthened and prosper because it is based on Truth.

Allah says

verse 5_3

{This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favour upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion.}
5-3

[fn5] On the term Islamophobia or Lahabism

We prefer to use the term “Lahabism” for the rather vague term “Islamophobia” (like a spider phobia?). Lahabism recalls the mindless hatred that those filled with kufr (disbelief) have for the Oneness and Uniqueness of God (tawhīd), dating back to Abū Lahab in the time of the Prophet ﷺ.
- Mufti Menk - Story of Abu Lahab - YouTube - Abu Lahab, enemy of Islam, meets his fate - Diasporic Wanderlust: Sh. Abdal Hakim Murad’s “Travelling Home” – Traversing Tradition -mentioning the term “Lahabism.”

”We don’t use this term (Islamophobia) lightly. We define it as an exaggerated fear, hatred, and hostility toward Islam and Muslims that is perpetuated by negative stereotypes resulting in bias, discrimination, and the marginalization and exclusion of Muslims from America’s social, political, and civic life.” Wajahat Ali

[fn6] ”Muslim criminal” is an oxymoron, and it is explained in this chapter.

[fn7] It is He who creates everything visible and invisible, and in every moment there is a new creation.
Allah says
{If He so pleased, He could blot you out and bring in a New Creation.} 35-16

[fn9] When Islam Is Under Attack:
”The hostility towards Muslim countries further intensified after the Cold War and then 9/11: in a shockingly short period, the world saw the destruction of Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, and Yemen under the pretense of the new unseen enemy. This ’War on Terror’ was then tactfully converted into an all-out war on Islam, waged on many fronts, including ideological, economic, and political. It is a timeless war with no end in sight.”

”no end in sight” Not so. It is a time restricted war with the an end in sight: The coming of the Mahdi (a.s.).n1 Read more:

[fn11] Re: ongoing military attacks - in 2020: Palestine, Afghanistan, Kashmir, Iraq, Yemen, Syria, Lybia, Somalia…, while countries of the West and the East (Russia, India and China) claim moral superiority.

[fn12] Much like al-Qaeda and the Islamic State, right-wing terrorists — who often refer to themselves as “Soldiers of Odin,” “Phineas Priests,” or “Army of God” — are inspired by their interpretations of religious concepts and scripture to lash out and kill in God’s name.

For example, in 1996, the Spokane Bank Robbers left business cards with a Celtic Cross and references to Yahweh (Hebrew for “God”), Obadiah 18 (e.g. Old Testament scripture in the Bible), and “His Wrath” at the scene of bank robberies and bombings. They believed they were literally carrying out God’s work by attacking banks, an abortion clinic and the local newspaper office.

We live in Hell now and you can do anything [transgression] in Hell. When it all end … we go up there [to Heaven] and the Devil comes down here. Only the Devil lives in Hell forever man all by his self. God has to forgive everyone, even if they don’t believe in him.”

[fn13] Bigotry: intolerance towards those who hold different opinions from oneself. (Oxford Dictionary of English)

[fn14] In the thick of the morally degraded principles and beliefs underpinning “nativist” ideology with its theories of replacement (of whites by Muslims, Latinos and others) which dominate contemporary alt-right thinking is the uncomfortable fact, rarely mentioned, that the whites themselves achieved their dominant status (in Australasia, the Americas, Africa and beyond) by slaughtering (preferably) or replacing (pushing back, infecting with disease, herding in reserves or expulsion) the original “natives”, the indigenous population (How Australia has evolved into a haven for racists, 18 March). The moral inconsistency of this simple but crucial fact when set alongside the associated notions of white exclusiveness and exceptionalism just seems to be beyond their reasoning. But then, as we know only too well, racists always operate on the basis of false evidence. Gillian Dalley London

[fn15] Anti-Muslim Racism and Islamophobia in Germany
Discrimination is so far a highly underrated obstruction to the rise of education; school in Germany being one of the social fields, which is most commonly reported to be discriminatory. (Institut für Migrationsforschung und Interkulturelle Studien: Policy Brief. Pathways to success. Erfolgreiche Einwandererkinder und ihre Aufstiegskarrieren im urbanen und internationalen Vergleich, p. 10; 2015) Apparently the government of the Federal Republic of Germany does not sufficiently pursue its obligation of protecting Muslim children and adolescents against anti-Muslim racism in public schools.

[fn16] Re: Murdoch: 'No single individual has done more damage to democratic institutions, political discourse, and social cohesion in the United States, Australia and UK than the media baron Rupert Murdoch....' @JessicaCheshi15

[fn17] ”The groundwork was laid much earlier.  As Deepa Kumar at Rutgers University reports, the effort to tie Islam to terrorism started at a Zionist funded neoconservative conference on international terrorism in 1979. Then, after a second such conference in 1984, “both US neocons and Zionists worked together to convince Western policy makers that ‘Islamic terrorism’ would replace communism as the West’s next great threat. By tying Islam to terrorism, neocons would gain political cover for their imperialistic ambitions in the Middle East, and Zionists would benefit from garnering Western sympathies for their struggle against Palestinian ‘terrorism.’”
